Fairford Medical was founded in London in 2016. We are Specialists in new or refurbished Mobile or Static MRI and CT Medical Diagnostic Imaging Scanners

Fairford Medical buys all suitable used MRI, CT and other medical imaging systems being replaced by hospitals and imaging departments at better trade-in prices than OEMs and Brokers can offer! We can offer to lease them back at affordable rates and re-locate them if required.

All units are de-installed and moved by experienced and fully OEM trained engineers from our associated maintenance and engineering company Health Imaging Solutions Ltd (www.healthimagingsolutions.com) who can also provide full Project Management to make the process as simple and painless as possible, from site surveys to arranging all work necessary

Fairford Medical is owned and managed by Michael Bradfield, a successful and well-known businessman and investor in cutting edge medical technology with over 30 years’ experience. Michael has a law degree from LSE and was a Founder and CEO of Hospital Plan Insurance Services ("HPIS"), a direct seller of low cost health, accident and life insurance (subsequently sold after 30 years to AIG in 2000). He is a recognised expert in direct marketing and computer application programming, specialising in system and consumer marketing database design. He has extensive experience in equipment leasing, having previously founded and run a successful international specialty asset leasing business. He is also an active investor, with a strong track record of involvement with technology-based companies and a focus on sustainable and disruptive business models.

Michael Bradfield is also Chairman and co-founder with Directors Mike Cox and Wayne Goring of Health Imaging Solutions Ltd (HISL), an associate company of Fairford Medical providing all maintenance services for Tier 1 Diagnostic Medical Imaging Systems. HISL provides high quality, fast, personal and responsive independent maintenance services and solutions for Medical Imaging departments throughout the UK. Offering a 24/7 “one-stop” point of contact for busy Operations Managers, HISL maintains Multi-Vendor Tier-1 MRI and CT Scanners as well as X-Ray and Ultrasound equipment using an exceptional team of experienced and cross-trained engineers and specialised sub-contractors.

Health Imaging Solutions uses remote fault logging and diagnostics to determine problems even before their engineers arrive on site. HISL Multi-Vendor maintenance contracts offer a flexible and faster alternative at a significantly lower cost to OEMs. The company maintains an extensive inventory of spare and replacement parts for all manufacturers and models, including older machines that are no longer maintained or supported by the OEM. HISL’s on-hand inventory and specialised parts suppliers are fully certified and accredited, allowing rapid response times and minimising user downtime. HISL is the only UK independent maintenance provider town and base its de-installation and installation tools such as ramp kits and shim arrays in the UK. Michael Bradfield is a Director of and a major investor in the Proton Therapy equipment developer Advanced Oncotherapy Plc (“AVO”) (www.avoplc.com). Advanced Oncotherapy's aim is to cost-effectively deliver the next generation of Proton Therapy Treatment using its lower cost, compact LIGHT Linear Accelerator system. Advanced Oncotherapy has headquarters in London, its R&D facility (ADAM) located on the campus at CERN in Geneva, a clinical research and clinician training facility in the USA and assembly facilities at Thales in Thonon in France. AVO’s goal is to help healthcare providers and hospitals expand their repertoire of radiation oncology treatments to ensure clinicians and patients have increased choices. It is a public limited company whose shares are listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange under the symbols AVO.L and AVO LN. Michael Bradfield and AVO are now building the London Proton Therapy Centre in Harley Street London W1 using AVO’s LIGHT system.
